ETSY TREASURES

 

Wow!  Can't believe it's been a whole week since I've blogged.  Wish I could say I've been busy with this and that, but I really can't.  I've been a little busy with "this", but not a whole lotta "that" this past week.  I did have to work an extra day this past week, and I have been getting some stuff down around the house, and slowly getting Halloween decor . . . but in all, not much has gotten done 'round here.

I want to share with you these gorgeous and sweet pendant necklaces I purchased from a blogging friend, Cindy Gilstrap.  I found Cindy's Etsy Shop a few years ago, before I was a blogger, and before I realized she had a blog

I can't wait to wear these pendants.  I'm tempted to wear them all at the same time!

WINE BOTTLE REPURPOSED INTO AN OIL LAMP

How cool is this?  

Any narrow-necked bottle can be transformed into an oil lamp using these cool bottle stopper wicks.  I picked a couple of these wick thingys years ago.  Somewhere.  Don't remember where now.

You simply stick them in a bottle that you've filled with lamp oil.  Of course I had to embellish my bottle a bit.

Part of a map torn from an old road atlas that I "aged" using distressing ink and GlimmerMist {It's actually part of Delaware!}.

These would make great gifts if I can find more of the wick thingys!

"BOOTIFUL" RING HOLDERS

Well, not exactly "boots" . . . more like "pumps".

Are these not THE most adorable ring holders you've ever seen???  

Last Saturday night, Hubby and I went out for dinner for our anniversary ~ to my most favorite restaurant.  After dinner, we decided to stroll through a cute little home accent store nearby.  When I saw those amazing ring holders in the display case, a whole wonderful variety of them, I knew I had to have one.  Actually, I didn't end up getting one for myself, but one for a friend's upcoming birthday ;o).  

Let me tell how I struggled when I got home about perhaps just keeping it for myself.  I know I could go back to the store to buy another for me, but there was only one of each style, and I just loved the one I picked.  

Hmmmm . . . huge dilemma.

Well, my sweet, wonderful, thoughtful Hubby stopped by that store on his way home from work the other day, and bought another shoe so I could have one.  Now I have to decide which to keep and which to give to my friend.  

Decisions, decisions . . . 

The night we went in there after dinner, the sales woman was telling me that a few days earlier a woman came in and bought several of the shoes for her granddaughters.
The woman was handing down some of her family heirloom rings to each of her 

granddaughters, and was putting them in the ring shoes as part of the gift.  What a wonderful gift that must have been for each of those lucky ladies!  

Although these shoes are designed so "bootifully", and with such gorgeous detail, they're quite affordable ~ under $20.  How could a girl resist a new shoe at that price???

26 YEARS AGO . . .

YESTERDAY 

Me and Hubby

 sealed the deal . . . 

tied the knot . . . 

got hitched!

Wow! 

Twenty-six years!

It's been a wonderful 26  years, honestly (plus the 5 years we spent dating!). 

I couldn't have planned a better life if I'd gone back in time to do so.

Sheesh, we look soooo young!!!
