A BIG BLOGGING SLUMP

What do you do to get out of a big blogging slump?

cork board message center on front of frig - cool!
Or just a big slump in general.

Not only has it been hard for me to find something to blog about, but I haven't even been motivated to visit in blogland.

AND . . . I just got a brand new shiny computer.  A new Mac.  It's bigger and purdier and faster than my old Mac.  You'd think that would motivate me to play online more.

Maybe it's "that time of the year" for me.  That time of the year when I get restless, yet unmotivated at the same time.   I'm done with the short days and cold temperatures.  My birthday's just around the corner ~ yet one more year closer to joining the half-century club.  I'm having to work on that winter bulk weight.
Just plain feeling like blecchhh.

how 'bout a pink frig???
As for getting stuff done around the house here, a few small projects have been completed.  But, for the most part, I just can't seem to get it together.

love this pantry door!!!
Seems the days I don't work, I'm keeping up with the housework, then I'm pooped in the evenings.  Well, whatever it is, I hope I can snap out of it.  I'm tired of being tired!

Son No. 1 is coming home Thursday for Spring break.
Maybe his visit will help lift me out of this slump a little.

But, I did manage to share some web-found kitchen inspiration.
All these shared photos are from Country Living.

I couldn't just yammer away about how unmotivated and blah I've been, now could I???
I had to offer something pretty to look at!

Thanks for visiting.

Hi Carla!
Sorry about the blogging slump. Come on over, and you can help me get this place in order..... that'll give you something to do. You will run home as fast as you can and be glad for the peace and quiet :)
It's been crazy around here, and I am in a slump too. It's called the renovation blues . Me and the hardware store guys are on a pretty good first name basis :)
Hang in there girl.... Springs a comin'!!

I can so relate Carla~ I wish I had words of wisdom for you but this whole winter has been one slump after another for me with only thoughts of spring to get me over them sloooowly! I did start some seeds indoors, a whole bunch of lavender, next I'm going to seed some herbs. So nice to even just smell the dirt!lol:)
Hope things pick up for you! Think Spring!
hugs,

paula:)

You sound like me, Carla! I get in these slumps, too. The past couple of weeks have kind of been forced because of real life going on, but there are definitely times I just don't have anything that has struck me to share. Those days I basically just read blogs if I'm online. I did read a book that I finished this past weekend and I really enjoyed that. I haven't been as avid a reader since I've been blogging. Sometimes you just need a little break to get refreshed!

Like some of the others I can so relate, and I am so sorry for all who go through this. (and good for you for getting it out in open)

I do not think there are any instant solutions. I have learned that it eventually goes away. (does not make it any easier in the middle of it though).

Hope this will help:
If there is ANYTHING you enjoy right now, do it!!!! Don't force yourself to do the things you do not feel like (except the things that MUST be done).
And, do not, I repeat, do not, beat yourself up for feeling how you do!!! It is just how you feel. It is not right or wrong.

In the mean time, we can all pray for each other. And, if you can, reach out to others who may not feel great either. There are a bunch of us around.

hugs and blessings

Yep, me too! Bleah is about all I could say last week - too many niggly things weighing on me I think and no motivation to do anything. In teh Yukon we called it Cabin Fever; cooped up for too long with the same past-times and people - too much of the same thing begins to feel like drudgery.
I think I am pretty much out of it now but not completely. I bought some pretty fabric and though at first it was a struggle, I persisted and am now making a small runner that is making me pretty happy every time I look at it.
Here's to coming out of the doldrums sooner rather than later...

Amen, Sister!! I've been in a blogging slump since the wedding. I'm still trying to catch my breath. : )
But thank you for these lovely pics. They could pull anyone out of a slump. : )
Have a good weekend,

I know exactly what you mean...the Winter weather has put me in a slump as well. However, the extra sunshine this week has perked things up...I hope you've experienced this lift as well.
