Can't resist sharing some of the great finds I scored at Michael's over the weekend.
Check out this be-u-ta-full ribbon I grabbed up. It was in with all the
Christmas clearance stuff and was 80% off -
EIGHTY PERCENT, people!!!
I'm totally loving the brown, silver, turquoisey blue combination of some of them. Oh, and the baroque-type pattern of the one . . . lovely!
I almost feel compelled to go back and buy up whatever they have left!
The ones I choose I felt were perfect for wintry decor accents. Even great for wrapping a gift for that winter-born birthday person.
I used some of the ribbon I snatched up to accent my hurricanes created from Dollar Tree stuff (candle taper holders, glass cylinders, small prayer candles). Also adding in some scrapbook paper and embellishments, DT snowflakes, I think I created a cute wintry-accessorized candle.
I even covered a plain old pillar candle and the small prayer candles
- from the DT, of course! -
with some of the ribbon. Plop them on top of my Pottery Barn bay leaf candle holder thingy, and I've created a new centerpiece for the table.
Can ya tell I'm just a tad bit excited about this ribbon??? :o)
I've linked up my cute and easy winter candle/ribbon/paper/blingy project over at Kim's blog, Twice Remembered "Make Your Monday" post. Go check out all the super-cool projects shared by others all throughout blogland.

Your really found some great ribbon at a really great price. I agree, finding new places to tie a bow can be fun. Also, I've been meaning to tell you that I love your new blog header. Very nice!
so pretty Carla, what a deal! I actually bought two spools of the blue sparkly polka dots ribbon to decorate for my daughters sweet 16 last september and I know I did not get 80% off!!
stay warm:)

WOW, you really scored, girl. Can't beat the price and they look gorgeous on your pillars.
Morning Carla,
That ribbon is GORGEOUS!! I love the wintery look. I sure wish we had a Michael's close by, but only Hobby Lobby. Might have to check and see if they have any pretty ribbon left.
Love the ribbon you got, Carla! It does work for now. Great idea to put it around the little prayer candles. Mine need something since I took the Christmas scrapbook paper off them. I did skip the ribbon when I was at Michaels the other night ~ I feel like I've bought so much what with Christmas decorating and wrapping.
Great store. I visited a Michael during a vacation trip to North America. I have been dreaming of it ever since. You just don't have something like that here. Envious of your ribbons. Have fun with them.
So many different and cute ideas! I like the ones with the square metal bling. Also, I love the candle-holder-holding-a-hurricane version too! I've seen both of those items at the dollar store, but they don't look like that on the shelf. Thanks for sharing!
Great ideas! Thanks for the inspiration.
