MY NEW SPRING BOOTY

. . . and "Weigh-In Wednesday" update.

Thanks to you all who left birthday wishes for Hubby. I'm pretty sure he enjoyed reading them. Like I said before, he's pretty low-key, and not much into getting attention, but he did appreciate your kind words.

He and I met for lunch yesterday for his b'day at Don Pablos, a Mexican restaurant. I tried to be good. I had a salad and white chicken chili. Probably should not have had the chili, but I did anyway! I checked the nutritional info on their site, and it wasn't too bad. More fat and calories than I would have eaten had I made lunch at home, but I decided I wouldn't eat much for dinner.

Then the whole day fell apart. I made cupcakes. Dumb! I dipped into the mixing bowl testing the buttercream icing a tad too much. Bad! To make matters worse, I later ate 2 cupcakes. Weak! This is no way for a person to act who's trying to loose weight. Well, today's a new day. And as for my weight, no dang change! Still holding at 172. WTHeck???!!! Again, I'm going to have to get my mind set to get back on track. Stop picking!!! Why is it so hard? As far as my behavior this past week, I wasn't too bad. Could have been better. Had a few bad days, but I think I've been eating okay. Just not good enough to drop weight, I guess.

Enough weight whining. On to the cute stuff I bought yesterday. After lunch, Hubby went back to work, and I decided to hit Michael's and Pier One.

I've been on the lookout for cute rabbits that aren't real Eastery so they can stay out past Easter a while. It hasn't been easy. Anyone know anywhere I could find rabbits in any form - wood, ceramic, resin, etc? Rabbits are so common, you'd think I'd be able to find them anywhere. Must be because I'm looking.

I found this ca-utie pa-tootie at Pier One

along with the nest

and little birdie salt and pepper shakers.

Couldn't resist these new plates for my plate holder thingy. I love the raised, etched-like pattern on them.

This sweet little birdbath was from Michael's.

Their whole line of home dec is on sale 40% this week. I also grabbed up some eggs, which I may paint a different color - or leave - and some moss balls.

Now I just have to drag the rest of my Easter/Spring goodies from out of the attic and get some Spring freshness in the house.

I just realized that this is my 92nd post. I think I'll have to plan a big surprise for my 100th post. Of course ya'll know what that surprise is most likely going to be.
Yes! A giveaway.
More on that later.

Have a great Thursday!

Thanks for visiting!
Leave a comment so I can get to know you.

Carla,

I know what you mean I love to "test" the icing and batter maybe more than the final product. This is a little trick I do-when baking. I put a Crest White Strip in my mouth then I can't "test" anything. Did you ever wonder why my teeth were so white? Now you know my little secret. Marshalls usually has some great Easter/bunny stuff.

YUM Don Pablos...I've eaten there before but it has been a long time. I don't think we have any around here. If I make sweets I EAT sweets. So I understand the cupcake thing perfectly!!!!♥

LOVE all of your cute Spring things. I LOVE bunnies and have a bunch of them in a hutch in my home. I just keep my eyes open and usually find quite a few. Hobby Lobby usually has some that don't look so Easter-y too.

Sounds like a good day! You can't deprive yourself because that makes you feel worse. You should allow yourself a day where you have something, whether it's a cupcake, an ice cream sandwich, etc. Are you drinking water? Big thing, drinking the water {or add cyrstal light for flavor}.

I love bunnies, Carla, so I'm always on the look-out for them! I usually find some good ones at Home Goods and I think that Target and Marshalls would be good, too. Goodwill or a thrift store might have something. Sometimes little shops/boutiques have some good ones, too. Mine are out all year and are not Eastery.

Morning Carla!
Well sweetie pie... I think you are far too hard on yourself and I think you deserved a special day! Especially considering it was your hubby's birthday! :)
I adore your bunny from Pier 1 and the bird S&P shakers!
Now I regret not picking up 2 ceramic bunnies that I saw at the thrift store months ago.
Have a great day! Hope the sun is beaming through your windows!

Hey Carla. Don't get too down. I had a horrible eating day yesterday too. Like you said today is another day and you shouldn't dwell on the bad day. We can do it!!! Love your Easter things and tell your hubby Happy Birthday!

Carla, I am so in love with the bunny!

My hubby and I had lunch today, a jaunt into Cincinnati for some City BBQ! It was some serious restraint to not order all those fun side items. I just got a sandwich and sneaked bites from his smashed potatoes. I tried to convince him it was better for both our waistlines that way.

Don't beat yourself up over those cupcakes. Isn't it awful when the harder we try to take something out of our diet we just want it all that much more. We humans are wired awful silly.

Carla,
Woo Hoo , it's Saturday.
I posted the recipe for onion-cheddar rolls and also for Naan. Both are yummy and easy peasy to make. I apologize in advance.. cuz I know it'll kill your healthy eating habits. But, it's worth it:)
Have a great weekend!
