A PB KNOCK OFF - BOOK BUNDLE

I know, these have been popping up all over blogland - nothing new.  I'm sure you've all seen 'em.  Pottery Barn is selling these for some ridiculous price.

And as usual, I'm bringing up the rear in getting my version done.

I used a couple old paperback books from my kid's library of books and an old paperback student dictionary.  Ripped off the covers and binding and soaked them in a tea/coffee bath to age them a bit and make the pages wrinkly.  They were air-drying way too slowly for me, so I popped them into the oven on the lowest setting for a while to dry out.

But, it's done!  And it is my version.  I just had to add a little sumin'-sumin' to it.  Bling it up a bit, if you will.

Something so terribly simple, but I like it!  I might be creating a few more.  On the PB site, they have a wooden vessel filled with them.  A look I may knock off as well.

Thanks for visiting!

Hi Carla!

Your book turned out great!

Now I'm wishing I hadn't given my falling apart Alice in Wonderland book that my mother gave me when I was little to my grand-niece . . this book would have been perfect for this!!

Have a great day!

Oh! I love it! Believe it or not, I haven't seen a ton of these in blogland. You have inspired me to make one for myself though for our living room! Hope your day is wonderful! Angie xo

I love them and I like your little sumtin sumtin, Carla! I like the idea of using paperbacks because I'm kind of snobby about keeping them on my bookshelves. In fact, I think I got rid of all of mine the last time we got ready to go on the market.

Carla, I love the bling you added. They are fun to make and the prices of the ones in the stores are crazy.

So you cooked the books?! Great idea and I have to make a few sets of these! I like the added touches. I am partial to bees when I can find them.
