INSPIRED BY JOY

Have you ever seen a room spread in a decorating magazine, or a photo array on someone's blog, that just inspired you sooo much, almost to the point of obsession? That's how I was when I saw Joy's
blog post entitled
I instantly . . . and obsessively! . . . fell in love with the vignettes she created using a mix of her great accent pieces, dollar store finds and frosty floral accents.

I'm thrilled, and honored, that Joy has allowed me to share the beautiful photos of her chilly, wintry vignettes. We all seem to travel in the same blog circle, but for the few of you who may not have ever visited
- can't imagine there's a person on the planet who hasn't visited her love-a-lee blog! -
you must go right away. Be prepared to stay awhile! She has a wonderful decorating style that I personally just love, love, love, and I'm sure you will too.

I've tried to emulate her designs using things I gathered from around my own home. It was really fun trying capture the wintry feel of this time of year. Something I've never really done in the past. Oh, I usually leave my snow people out and about after Christmas, and would throw in some Valentine's Day sweetness, but never tried to capture the "wintry" feel of the season.

This is the beauty of blogland. Having other talented people share their ideas resulting in great inspiration to others. Thank you, Joy, for that. :o)

Below, I'm sharing the fun I had in creating a few chilly inspired vignettes. I've gone a bit heavy on the snaps! I hope you enjoy looking - as much as I enjoyed creating - at how I borrowed some of Joy's ideas and worked them to suite my decor.

Oh my goodness! Everything looks so wonderful! Lots and lots of icy goodness!
My favorite display is the one on the chect beneath the gold mirror. I love the ice skates and the little birdhouse arrangement!
The tote full of silver is great too!
