I am sooo in love with these pillows from Pottery Barn, but that frugal cheap! person in me will absolutely not allow me pay $29 A PIECE for them. Besides, the Peace pillow is old out.
My plan is to purchase me some burlapy-type fabric - if not the real deal itself - and sew the pillows myself. I mean, c'mon . . . look at the simplicity of these pillows. No cording, no buttons, no trim, nadda - just a line of top-stitching along the border. Granted, the words are embroidered, which I cannot do, but I was thinking of stenciling the words.
Does anyone have any idea where I could find word stencils similar to that font? I've tried searching for them online using several search words/phrases, but I'm just not finding what I want. Any help would be so greatly appreciated!

wish I could help.. but I do agree with you. It is against my religion to pay that much for that pillow. Did you google peace stencil.

Hey sweetie, you could head to the fabric store and look for the fabric you love, osnaburg has a coarse feel similar to burlap....investigate and see if you have someone in your area that will do embroidery for you. Some little shops that do monograms will do by-the-piece jobs....take your pre-washed then cut fabric (the size of the pillow fronts) to them and have them embroider the words in a script font. I don't know if this helps much but just an idea sweetie, hugs and love, Dawn
Carla, If you are feeling super adventurous you could print out the words in a matching font, use graphite paper to transfer onto the material you purchase, then hand embroider it.

I eventually did google peace word stencil and found some, but not in the font like the PB pillow. Marie, I checked out the link to the blog you recommended. All I can say is OMG! I wish my machine embroidered. Dawn, yes, Osnaburg would be a perfect choice. I'd totally forgotten about that. I may even have enough to do the entire project. Hmmm, hand embroidering might mean, for me anyway, these pillows wouldn't get done till next C'mas! LOL
